My Personal Story
I have studied dance for over 30 years with teachers that were highly skilled professional dancers, and acknowledged dance teachers from all over the world. Beginning in my early childhood, I spent countless hours every week in dance training. Dance technique was not natural for my body and did not come easy. It felt like it didn't matter how many hours I spent in the studio, I was not getting the results I was hoping for. As I was searching for complimentary methods to improve my dance technique, I began attending group Feldenkrais classes with former ballerina and ballet/Feldenkrais teacher Augusta Moore. The changes to my movement and body were immediate. It was through Feldenkrais work that my dancing has improved, rather than through grueling dance classes.
Using the Feldenkrais way of understanding proper movement, as well as the process of learning through awareness, I became clear about my inefficient movement patterns, and gained the sensorial knowledge for improving my technique.

Going through this process myself, I'm passionate about sharing my knowledge with other dancers, and helping them achieve their goals and dreams.

My work with dancers
When I work with dancers, I combine Feldenkrais processes with active dance technique training. The sessions are tailored to meet each dancer's specific needs and abilities.
Further more, beyond improved technique, the dancers learn how to move organically, and to avoid and heal from injuries.
I am confident that I can offer the proper tools for any dancer, at any level, to achieve their technical goals. Dance is comprised of learnable skills, not just talent!
Benefits of Feldenkrais for dancers
-
Better balance - Find the proper skeletal support, and muscle activation for balancing.
-
Develop supportive turn-out, using the organic abilities of your body.
-
Improved Feet- Learn how to maximize the space in your ankle, by improving the relationship between your foot, leg and pelvis bones.
-
Long Spine - Learn how to lengthen your spine without compromising your breath and freedom of movement.
-
Flexibility that starts in mobility - Maximize the space in your joints, so your muscles can stretch to their maximum, without injuring yourself.
-
Long movements - Learn how to lengthen your movements throughout your whole body, by expanding the spaces between your joints.
-
Better muscular distribution - Learn proportional distribution of muscular effort. How the large muscles take on the work of moving your body through space, and the smaller muscles to carry the expressive work of your dancing.
-
Expressive arms and hands - Discover how proportional distribution of muscular effort allows your arms and hands to become more expressive.
-
Expand your movement repertoire - Learn the different ways in which your body can fold, twist and turn, by removing inhibitions and learning new movement patterns.
